Configurations

Use Configurations to prepare a menu and its ordering settings, save versions, and recover an earlier version.

Open: Configurations in the left menu. You need a restaurant administrator account. For definitions of configuration, item, page, and customer type, see Terms used in this manual.

Open an existing configuration

  1. Enter part of its name in Search if needed.
  2. Select the configuration name to expand it.
  3. Choose Edit items to work with the master item list, or Edit menu to arrange the pages guests browse.

Result: the selected editor opens for that configuration. Check its name before making changes. See Menu Management for the editing procedures.

Create a configuration

Before starting, choose a distinct name. If you want to start from a file, have a configuration JSON export ready.

  1. Choose Add Configuration.
  2. Enter the Configuration name, for example Lunch menu.
  3. Optionally select the JSON file in the initialization-file field.
  4. Choose Create configuration.
  5. Find and expand the new configuration. Check its items and settings before assigning it to a location.

Result: the configuration appears in the list. To use it at a restaurant, select it under Locations.

Change session and guest settings

Session length

  1. Expand the configuration and find Session Length.
  2. Enter Minutes per session, between 1 and 1440.
  3. Pause after entering the number, then reopen the configuration to check the saved setting before service.

This field saves automatically after typing stops; there is no Save button for it. The table's remaining-time display is described under Tables.

Customer types

In Customer Types, find the type you need. Use its switch to enable or disable it. For a group or numeric-limit change, edit the field and move out of it so the change can save. Check the saved settings before assigning that type to a table.

Use the restaurant's existing customer-type rules when choosing limits and groups. In the assignment dialog, the group affects which types staff can select together. See Tables → Assign a menu.

Guest languages

  1. Find Guest languages in the expanded configuration.
  2. Select the languages you want guests to be offered.
  3. Select Default beside one enabled language.
  4. Open Edit menu and check the available preview languages.

Result: guests are offered the configured content languages. Add translated page titles and item texts using Menu Management → Translate menu content. Changing the default does not create missing translations.

Save a version before a large change

  1. Scroll to Version history in the expanded configuration.
  2. Choose Tag current version.
  3. Enter an optional label, such as Before lunch-menu changes, and choose Save version.
  4. Check that the saved version appears in the list.

Result: you have a named recovery point. A saved version and a downloaded export are different copies: the version remains in the application; an export is a file you keep separately.

Export or duplicate a configuration

To download a file, expand the configuration and choose Export. Check that the browser saved the download before relying on it as a backup.

To create an editable copy:

  1. Choose Duplicate in the expanded configuration.
  2. Replace the suggested name with a distinct name.
  3. Choose Confirm.
  4. Find the copy in the list and inspect it before editing or assigning it to a location.

Import a complete configuration

Before importing

Import replaces the selected configuration's contents. Save a version and export any copy you need before continuing. If you only want to update the item list, use the item-list upload instead.

  1. Expand the configuration that should receive the imported contents and choose Import.
  2. Check the target name in the warning dialog.
  3. Select the configuration JSON file.
  4. Choose Import Configuration.
  5. Reopen the target and check its items, pages, and settings before guests use it.

If the imported contents are not what you intended, restore the version you saved before the import.

Version history and recovery

Use Version history for saved versions and Automatic history for recorded revisions. Search and date filters help you find a particular change. In Automatic history, load more entries when the revision you need is not yet listed.

Before restoring

Restoring replaces the current configuration. Check the target version and coordinate the change with staff using that menu. The restore operation saves the current state as a safety copy first.

  1. Choose Restore beside the version or revision to recover.
  2. Check its name or date and the displayed item/page counts when present.
  3. Give the safety copy a useful name, such as Before restoring lunch menu.
  4. Choose Restore version.
  5. Open Edit items and Edit menu to check the recovered contents.

Result: the selected contents become current, and the previous state is retained as a safety copy. If you restored the wrong contents, find that safety copy in Version history and restore it.

Saved-version actions also include rename, export, and delete. Use Save as version on an automatic revision when you want to retain it as a saved version.

Branding

Configure the restaurant logo in Branding. Check the light and dark previews; use the displayed replacement or analysis-retry controls if a variant needs attention.

Global settings

Global settings applies to the entire license. It contains cash-register failure/connection thresholds and staff/guest recording switches. Changes there affect more than the configuration you have expanded. Use the failure and connection guidance under Messages before changing monitoring thresholds.
